I have always loved the outdoors, nature and most of all horses. When I was around eight years old and living in California, my Grandpa on my dads side, told me about our Indian heritage. His grandmother was a full blood Choctaw. The story goes that she fell in love with a white man and ran away because they were rejected by family. I was excited to know about my heritage and where I had come from. At a young age I started doing all kinds of book reports and research on Indian tribes and culture. When I moved to Oklahoma later in life, it was very different from where I grew up but I loved the wide open country. Being able to drive for miles and just seeing land is beautiful and relaxing. It is interesting that my mothers side of the family is from Oklahoma and her family history is tied to the Oklahoma Land Run. My great grandparents were in the Oklahoma land run back in 1889. My great grandfather loved racing horses and used one of his horses for the land run. I used to joke that my moms side of the family took my dads side of the family land away. Who really knows what happened.
